Adult Fruit Salad

Fruit salad is a staple of summer cuisine because it features plenty of fresh, in season fruit in an easy to eat form. But the same fruit salad day after day can become boring. Luckily there is a simple twist you can add that is sure to be a hit. First select all of your favorite fruits like cantaloupe, honeydew melon, pineapple, kiwi, strawberries, watermelon etc. Once you have cut up all the fruit, drizzle a healthy amount of Grand Marnier over the fruit and let it sit, stirring every 15 minutes until all the alcohol is absorbed by the fruit. Then serve it! For an even bigger effect, try soaking the watermelon in vodka the night before you make the fruit salad.

4th of July Firework Popsicles

Nothing cools you down on a hot summers day more than an ice cold popsicle. Try these easy to make firework themed popsicles at your 4th of July event or any other time this summer. To make them, start with a small Dixie cup and pour cranberry juice or fruit punch into the cup, filling the bottom third. Place the cup in the freezer until the juice is frozen. Next, fill the second third of the cup with yellow lemonade and place in the freezer until the lemonade is thick but not frozen. Finally, insert a popsicle stick with a strand of pull and peel twizzlers (the firework wick!) into the lemonade layer so it stands up and fill the last third of the cup with blue raspberry juice or blue cool aid. Place the cup in the freezer and freeze until hard. To serve them, simply peel the cups off and pass them around to your guests!

Use these recipes the next time your stuck trying to think of a dish or take a boring everyday recipe and add a creative twist. Be sure to try these recipes at your next summer event, they are guaranteed to be a hit!
