Samsung Galaxy S5: A Good Phone But Not Revolutionary!

At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the company Samsung introduced a smartphone Samsung Galaxy S5. The new flagship of the South Korean giant is now equipped with a fingerprint reader and characteristics to support Waterproof and dustproof.

Samsung Galaxy S5 has a 5.1-inch full HD Super AMOLED display, is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset processor clocked at 2.5 GHz, offers 2 GB RAM and 16 or 32 GB of non-volatile memory, a 16-megapixel main and 2.1 megapixel front camera, battery capacity of 2800 mAh (in power saving mode it run doubled by disabling certain features).

The developers have paid great attention to the main chamber of the device. It has extremely fast autofocus (response time – 0.3 seconds), there is a function Real-time HDR, which shows in real time, it allows you to look at the photos and videos with effect before the shooting.  Camera also allows you to select the best focus, and a feature called “shot and more” allows you to choose the best of several photos taken in rapid succession.

Samsung Galaxy S5 is running Android 4.4, support LTE, super-fast Wi-Fi 802.11ac with theoretical speeds of up to 600-650 Mbit / s. Smartphone is water and dust proof, meets the specifications IP67, i.e. it can be submerged in water to a depth of 1 meter. Thus, compared with just presented Sony Xperia Z2, Samsung protected somewhat better.

As iPhone 5S, Galaxy S5 got a fingerprint scanner built into the “home.” Fingerprint feature allows you to unlock your phone and gives you the opportunity to organize access to certain documents in the memory of devices and authorize payments through PayPal.

Finally, the smartphone is able to monitor heart rate. For this purpose the sensor is embedded at the rear surface defining the blood flow in the finger.

Design of Galaxy S5 compared to its predecessor is changed, but not dramatically. The rear surface of the smartphone is uneven, while from the front “full-face” it is very similar to the Galaxy S4, only has more “square” edges. Samsung Galaxy S5 is available in four colors: black, white, blue, and gold. Prices are varied according to the different countries. No doubt, Galaxy S5 is a good phone but still it is not revolutionary if compared to its price. Let’s see if the new features like finger printer scanner and heart beat sensor would appear in the upcoming mid-range smartphone of Samsung as Samsung Galaxy Grand 3. Furthermore, there would be other interesting features too that would be the part of most high-end solution from the Samsung, but till now yet confirmed what it would be called as, may be the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Edge or second generation Samsung Galaxy Note Edge 2 with dual-edge display.
