Beautiful Ways To Use Chocolate

Eating chocolate as a special treat after a hard day’s work or a relationship break up is one thing, but with confectionery chocolate, it is hard to stop. There is so much sugar in it that it becomes addictive…have you ever left a chocolate bar unfinished?! Plus, all those empty calories simply pile on the pounds and cause skin breakouts.

Wouldn’t it be fantastic to discover a chocolate recipe which is not only good for your waistline, but which helps your skin to glow and radiate youthfulness? A chocolate facemask is the answer here, and of course, it is good for the waistline because it is going on your face as opposed to in your stomach. The ingredients are temptingly delicious though so be warned…this is one face mask which is not for the weak willed!

You will need to gather:

  • Half a cup of cocoa powder
  • Half a cup of honey
  • Three tablespoons of cream
  • Two tablespoons of oatmeal.

Mix all the ingredients into a blender until it forms a thick paste.

After five minutes settling time, brush on the mixture covering your whole face but not including the nostrils or eyes.

Once applied evenly, leave it to work for roughly 15 to 20 minutes.

Finally, rinse off with warm water and pat dry.

What do the ingredients do?

Cocoa powder
This contains a powerful antioxidant which helps protect the skin against aging, free radicals and daily damage to the skin from sources such as UV rays from the sun. In fact it packs a higher level of antioxidants in two tablespoons than you would find in 4 cups of green tea, a glass and a half of red wine and even a cup full of blueberries which are labeled as a superfruit. The power this provides to combat the aging process is most certainly something to be reckoned with!

Honey
This wonderful, natural product helps the skin to rejuvenate itself from the inside and supports depleted and damaged skin leaving it glowing with health.

Cream
Aids with smoothing and softening skin, plus it helps bind the mixture together.

Oatmeal
The fats inside oatmeal are lubrication for the skin meaning it moisturizes, whilst the proteins in it support the skins’ natural defence system. As with the cocoa powder, it helps keep daily damage to the skins’ layers to a minimum, and what damage does occur can be treated or reversed with these proteins. Plus oatmeal cleanses the pores with its naturally occurring cleansers.

The result of this naturally potent combination is softer, cleaner, smoother, stronger, healthier skin! And you can lick the bowl afterwards. What’s not to love about that.
