Clean Skin In Four Easy Steps

Washing the face every night before going to bed would not suffice to entirely clean the skin of all the dirt it has accumulated during the day. Not to mention the grime and muck ladies get from makeup brushes. Just take a closer look at those cosmetic brush bags and examine how discolored it has become. Below is a set of tips containing four easy steps on how a girl should properly clean the skin on her face.

Step 1: Determine the Type of Skin
Knowing the skin type first would provide the next needed step for a clean skin. Here are the typical skin types:

–          Oily skin is greasy, shiny and almost always has big spores.

–          Dry skin is rough, flaky or scaly.

–          Combination skin is oily in some part like the forehead, nose and chin; while it is dry in some parts like the cheeks.

–          Sensitive skin is when the skin stings, itches, or burns whenever it makes contact with makeup or other facial products.

–          Normal skin is clear, balanced, and not sensitive.

After knowing the correct skin type, the proper cleaning treatment could be administered.

Step 2: The Cleaning Proper
For normal and combination skin, avoid using random soaps within reach. Girls often just take whatever soap is available and wash their faces with it. If not soap, then what? Don’t worry; there is no need to buy expensive, fancy beauty stuffs. Simply use a gentle cleanser or facial foam. Don’t use facial scrubs. Rinse with lukewarm water only and pat dry. If one certain cleanser does not work, always try other skincare products.

For dry skin, don’t wash with hot water. It would remove natural oils from the skin which it needs to avoid drying. Use a gentle cleanser without fragrance or alcohol. Ingredients as such, can dry the skin faster. Exfoliate once a week to eliminate dead skin cells.

For oily skin, use an oil-free cleanser. Wash with warm water to remove excess oil and pat dry. Use astringent or a toner to remove more oil, making the skin less greasy.

For sensitive skin, avoid using anything that could cause an allergic reaction. Use cleansers with calming agents like chamomile, aloe, polyphenols, oats, and green tea.

Step 3: Moisturize Liberally
No skin is too old or too oily to be moisturized. All skins need moisture. It helps the skin from drying. After washing, while the face is still damp, apply moisturizer. The damp skin would help to lock in the moisture. For oily and sensitive skin, use a lightweight and oil-free moisturizer.

Step 4: Don’t Forget to Put on a Sunscreen
Although most moisturizers today already have sunscreen or SPF, it is still a good idea to apply a separate one. It only takes 15 minutes for the sun to cause damage to the skin, so it is always important to get protection. Use sunscreen that blocks UVB and UVA rays, and with an SPF30 or higher. Keep a sunscreen in cosmetic brush bags so they can be easily accessible. Apply sunscreen every two hours.

Sometimes, a woman’s skin seems to be impossible to manage, but knowing these four easy and simple steps would help a girl easily achieve a clear and clean skin that is ready to be made-up again.
