Dr. Jed Kaminetsky Receives the 2012 John Kingsley Lattimer Award

Each year, the Kidney and Urology Foundation of America shows support for the great urologists of the United States at an awards banquet cordially entitled The Winning Spirit: A Celebration of Excellence. This year, Dr. Jed Kaminetsky was chosen as the recipient of the organization’s highest honor: The John Kingsley Lattimer Award.

The Award Ceremony

Thie Kidney and Urology Foundation of America’s The Winning Spirit banquet for 2012 was held on June 6 at the St. Regis New York Hotel. Jed C. Kaminetsky, MD, FACS, was presented the John Kingsley Lattimer Award, and the cofounders of the NFL Alumni Medical Alliance, former NFL players Ottis Anderson and Bart Oates, won awards for 2012 Men of the Year.

The lavish dinner and awards presentation also served as a benefit for KUFA. Tables ranged from $17,500 to $7,500 each while individual sponsors were asked to donate either $750 or $500. Those who purchased tables also received premier advertising in KUFA’s prestigious, peer-reviewed medical journal.

About John Kingsley Lattimer

John Kingsley Lattimer (1914-2007) was one of the country’s top urologists, and he performed research on the assassinations of Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy. He was the first doctor who was not affiliated with the government to be allowed to examine JFK’s collected medical evidence. Dr. Lattimer began his career as an army doctor in World War II, and he was chairman of the urology department at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University for 25 years.

About Jed Kaminetsky, MD, FACS

Dr. Jed Kaminetsky is a clinical associate professor at the New York University Medical Center and is an associate medical director at Gramercy Surgery Center. Dr. Kaminetsky gained world prominence after conducting extensive research on male and female sexual dysfunction. His work has been published in several medical journals, and he continues to research new pharmacologic and diagnostic techniques for urologic disorders.

About The Organization

KUFA is a national nonprofit organization that is dedicated to helping people across the United States who have kidney and urologic diseases. The incidence of these diseases has increased in recent years along with the increase of related diseases, such as obesity, diabetes and hypertension.

Each year, they announce a new recipient of the John Kinsley Lattimer Award. The recipient is chosen for his or her great dedication in the field of urology. KUFA was happy to announce Jed Kaminetsky, MD, FACS as the recipient for 2012.
