How to remove dandruff using home remedies

Dandruff is mostly the effect of dry scalp or it can also be due to a skin condition called seborrhoea dermatitis. This can also be caused by certain conditions like psoriasis, eczema and overgrowth of a certain kind of yeast called malassezia.

In order to fight back dandruff one needs to follow some good hair care tips. For dandruff remedies, one needs to have shampoos which have zinc pyrithione or ketoconazole which are expert in fighting fungus. There can also be selenium sulphide and coal tar present in the shampoo that can slow down the growth of those skin cells that leads to dandruff issues.

If not with anti dandruff shampoo, then one can also use some home remedies as well to fight back the dandruffs. Here are some options.

Aspirin

Aspirin contains a very high amount of salicylic acid just like the medicated dandruff shampoos. So, one can crush 2 aspirins into a fine powder and then add it to any normal shampoo and use it every time when they wash their hair. Leave it for 2 minutes and then rinse well. Wash again with another round of shampooing to get better results. One can do this twice a week.

Tea tree oil

There are many studies that show if a shampoo has even a mere 5 percent of tea tree oil it can be of huge benefit for those who has dandruff problems. One can also add a few drops of tea tree oil in a regular mild shampoo and then keep washing normally with that.

Baking soda

This is an ingredient of everyday use and so it is always available in the kitchen. One needs to wet their hair and then rub a handful of baking soda well on the scalp. Then rinse it well for at least 2 to 3 minutes. This baking soda can reduce the overactive fungi that cause dandruffs. Though initially the hair might feel a bit dried out then later the scalp will start forming natural oils. This will make the hair flake free and a lot softer. One can use this twice a week to get better results.

Apple cider vinegar

This is another great way to reduce dandruff problems. The acidity present in the apple cider vinegar can change the PH balance of the scalp and it makes very difficult for the yeast to grow. One has to mix a quarter cup of apple cider vinegar with another quarter cup of water and then put it in a spray bottle to sprinkle on the scalp. Then wrap the head with a towel and keep it for 15 minutes. After that, wash the hair as usual. If one does this twice a week then they will definitely get some benefits.

Mouthwash

One can also use this if they have a heavy dandruff problem. Take an alcohol based mouthwash and its anti fungal properties will fight dandruffs.

One can also use ketomac shampoo hair fall on a regular basis if they think medicated shampoos can help them.
