Huawei Ascend P7: Overview and Design

One of the recent flagships Chinese Company Huawei is Ascend P7. This smartphone can compete with the famous devices from different manufacturers with not only price, but also performance, design and user interface.

Just obvious that the designers researched the market and bring the best ideas of competitors in a smartphone. And as with the Ascend G6 the flagship company has traced similarities from the Apple iPhone 4 / 4S and we can’t say that the G6 and P7 have same design. Yes, there are basic similarities and differences:

The iPhone smartphone went flat faces and metal edging, as well as flat glass back cover with a camera and simply decorated Huawei logo. Sony’s design borrowed from the Chinese on / off button. The hull shape is similar to Ascend G6. But it is worth noting that compared to the Ascend G6, whose lower corners are sharp, at Ascend P7 these angles as a little cut. Impressions of the design are still positive, but the sharp edges are not pressed into the palm.

With 5-inch screen as the Nexus 5 and Ascend P7 is slightly higher. Well, since Ascend P7 angles are not so much rounded, it feels a lot more of the same Nexus 5. At the same time, the thickness of the smartphone is 6.5 mm, which makes Huawei Ascend P7 one of the thinnest smartphones on the market. As for weight, the P7 even a little easier Nexus 5, although only 6 g (124 vs. 130).

Let’s go through the components of the device. On the front of the Ascend P7 are sensors, front camera, earpiece – over 5″ display, the manufacturer’s logo – below the screen. Hardware touch-sensitive buttons are missing – they replace the screen navigation buttons. Located on the top of a 3.5 mm headphone jack and auxiliary microphone hole. The left side is completely empty; here you can admire the beautiful metal edging.

On the right side are the volume keys, round off button, connectors for microSD and microSIM. While most companies decided to withdraw its support for microSD monolithic body in Huawei found a way out and still did connector. The only negative, which is more likely to be attributed to the usual cavils – two connectors are not signed and are not marked visually difficult to distinguish which slot and its purpose.

Although the smartphone has only two buttons, they are made to last. Both metal, not hang out, to the extent protrude from the body and have a clear course of depression. Well off button even has an embossed texture. Judging by the manufacturer, a slot for microSD can be inserted into nano-SIM and use Ascend P7 as 2-sim smartphone. If this happens, then this is a great move – combine support for memory cards and two SIM-cards. On the bottom is a microUSB-socket and spoken microphone.

On the back side of the smartphone is a 13-megapixel camera with flash, logo and grille. If you look closely, under glass, the image will appear. And once again we have to say, Huawei designers have win the crown of best design for the new phone Huawei Ascend P7 and we hope they would maintain this with their upcoming flagship as competition would not be easy in upcoming days when other flagship like Samsung Note 5 are releasing.
