New Jersey: From Shoreline To Cultural Experiences And Everything In Between

Moving to a new state can be overwhelming. Among all the worries and concerns about finding a new home and possibly a new job, you can’t help wondering what your day-to-day life will be like in the new location. If you are considering moving to New Jersey, be rest assured that throughout the state there are many fun ways to spend your days off.

The Jersey Shore
In the summer, towns located along the shore attract visitors to their boardwalk arcades, shops, and amusement parks. Among the most well-known are Jenkinson’s in Pleasant Beach and Morey’s Pier in Wildwood, which is rumored to have the best rides. In Atlantic City, you can enjoy modern resort hotels with shows, shopping, and casinos, while Cape May at the extreme southern tip of the state is filled with Victorian bed-and-breakfast inns. All along the shore, summer visitors enjoy swimming, sailing, and just relaxing on the beach.

Outdoor Activities
No matter where you are looking to live or spend your free time, you will find a wide variety of relaxing outdoor activities throughout the state. A network of state parks includes recreation areas, marinas, and basic campgrounds, with some private campgrounds including a full array of resort amenities, such as swimming pools, water slides, and movies.

In the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, tubing along the Delaware River is a popular summer activity, while spectacular foliage draws fall visitors. During the winter months, several winter resorts, including Campgaw Mountain and Mountain Creek Ski Resort, offer skiing, snowboarding, and snow-tubing opportunities.

The Arts
Several venues in the state, such as the Izod Center in East Rutherford, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in downtown Newark, or the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, offer performances of classic rock, classical music, opera, and dance. Art museums around the state include collections of all types of visual art.

Professional Sports
Many New Jersey residents who enjoy professional sports are fans of teams from the state as well as from the neighboring cities of New York and Philadelphia. The Nets represent the state in basketball, while the New Jersey Devils play in the National Hockey League. In addition, the New York Giants football team and the Red Bull New York soccer team both play home games at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford.

You’ll never lack for ways to enjoy your leisure time if you decide to move to New Jersey. Whether you are on your own or have a family with young children or teenagers, you will have no problem finding suitable houses for sale in NJ counties throughout the state that will each offer their own unique environment to enjoy.
