What Your Cufflinks Say About You

If the only shirts you own have buttons at the cuffs then the notion of cufflinks might seem a bit of nonsense to you: after all, why buy something that can be expensive and is fiddly to attach when you can buy shirts that already have a means of being fastened?

Those are valid points.  After all, you don’t buy trousers that you then have to buy a special fly for, do you?  But actually, the visual effect and impact of a pair of good-quality designer cufflinks can really transform a shirt and make you look far more professional and stylish.  As with all men’s designer jewellery, designer cufflinks speak volumes about how much care you take in your appearance and how much money you have in the bank.

So, if you’re thinking of investing in some designer cufflinks of your own, you will first need a few decent French cuff shirts on which to wear them.  Then you can start to look at the myriad designs available on the market.

The designs of cufflinks vary from the very traditional, plain designs that are very simple and understated to the rather more quirky designs that you can choose to reflect your personal interests or tastes.  For example, if you are a sports fan, there are cufflinks on the market made to look like cricket balls, footballers, rugby balls and tennis racquets.  If you are a keen sailor then why not choose cufflinks in the shape of yachts – what a great way to demonstrate that you have an expensive hobby!

To add a touch of modern style, choose cufflinks with added detail in coloured enamel.  There are plenty of designs on the market created by jewellery designers who know what men want and what looks good.  Cufflinks are a status symbol and designer cufflinks speak volumes about your financial and social standing in a very subtle manner.  Designer cufflinks will last for an indefinite amount of time and they are often passed down from one generation to the next because of their intrinsic value but also because of the sentimental values attached.  If you have a set of designer cufflinks that really means something to you or that says something about your personality then you could pass them to your son for his first job interview, or to your first grandson as a keepsake to remember you by.

So, whether you intend to smarten-up your image at work, or whether you just want some cufflinks to give a great impression on special occasion such as a first date or even your wedding day, then take the time to shop around and carefully choose a pair that says something special about you.
